Program learning outcomes outline what Mohawk's graduates need to know and be able to do after they complete this program.
Initially, most program learning outcomes were developed by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities (MTCU) in consultation with employers and educators. Now, they are reviewed and updated during program review, in consultation with employers, graduates, and current students.

Vocational Standards
The graduate has reliably demonstrated the ability to:
- Apply knowledge of the evolution of sustainability principles, economic models, social responsibility, and climate justice to support organizational goals and decision making.
- Apply environmental science, including carbon science and energy conservation principles relating to the natural and built environments, to sustainability goals and projects.
- Apply project management tools and principles, and collaborative skills, to support cross-disciplinary sustainability projects.
- Apply change leadership principles, systems thinking frameworks, and inclusionary practices to support strategic change within an organization.
- Clearly communicate sustainability and technical concepts to diverse audiences orally, in writing, and digitally, using formal reporting, dashboards, and storytelling narratives.
- Apply marketing strategies and effective communication to engage stakeholders and promote sustainability practices, initiatives and an organization’s brand.
- Support implementation and evaluation of departmental sustainability initiatives that support the organizational strategic plan and meet regulatory requirements.
- Use software, tools, and relevant statistics to collect, model and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Support the development of comprehensive reports and documentation, for various audiences, that translate technical data to communicate the sustainability performance, impacts, and regulatory compliance of an organization or business.
- Relate political, economic, and social dimensions of environmental problems to policy, including compliance with relevant regulations and regulatory frameworks.
- Apply research methods to investigate sustainability opportunities, challenges, new technologies, and potential solutions.
- Support business case development with consideration for the current and future financial, environmental, and social impacts of sustainability technologies, initiatives, and practices.
- Develop a plan to support on-going personal sustainability commitments and professional development to remain current in the evolving field of sustainability.
